Editing a Story

You can update any story you’ve written at any time. Editing a story allows you to fix typos, add new details, change the photo, or adjust the privacy settings. This guide walks you through the entire process.

How to Edit Your Story

  1. Go to the Stories & Memories page.
  2. Open the story you want to edit.
  3. Click the Edit button at the top of the story.
  4. Make your changes in the edit form:
    • Title — Update the story’s title if needed.
    • Your Story — Edit the text, add new details, or improve formatting.
    • Photo — Upload a new photo to replace the existing one (optional).
    • Tags — Add or remove tags to help others find your story.
    • Make Public — Change whether your story is public or private.
  5. Click Save Story to apply your changes.

Replacing a Photo

If your story already has a photo, uploading a new one will automatically replace the old image. The new photo will appear at the top of your story once saved.

If you prefer to remove the photo entirely, simply upload nothing — the story will save without a photo.

Editing Privacy Settings

You can change your story’s visibility at any time:

  • Public — Anyone can view the story, even without logging in.
  • Private — Only logged‑in family members can view it.

This setting can be changed as often as you like.

Who Can Edit a Story?

  • You — You can edit any story you created.
  • Administrators — Admins may edit stories for clarity, formatting, or verification.

Tips for Updating Your Story

  • Add new details as you remember them — stories grow over time.
  • Use formatting (bold, italics, lists) to make your story easier to read.
  • Replace older photos with clearer or higher‑quality versions.
  • Update tags to help others find related stories.
