Editing an Event
You can update the details of any event on the Family Calendar. Editing allows you to correct information, change dates, update descriptions, or adjust recurrence settings. Only users with Admin permissions can edit events.
How to Edit an Event
- Open the Family Calendar.
- Click the event you want to edit.
- In the event pop‑up, click the Edit button.
- The Edit Event window will appear with all event details.
- Update any fields as needed.
- Click Save Changes to update the event.
Only admins can edit events. Regular users can view event details but cannot make changes.
Fields You Can Edit
The Edit Event window allows you to update:
- Event Title — The name of the event.
- Date — The day the event occurs.
- Description — Additional details or notes.
- Category — Birthday, anniversary, family event, or custom event.
- Recurrence — Yearly or custom recurrence patterns.
Editing Recurring Events
If the event repeats every year or follows a custom pattern, you can update the recurrence settings. Options may include:
- Yearly — Birthdays, anniversaries, and annual events.
- Custom Recurrence — Such as “2nd Saturday in August.”
Changes to recurrence apply to all future years.
What Happens After Saving
When you save your changes:
- The calendar updates immediately.
- The event appears with the new details in all relevant years.
- Recurring events update across all future dates.
Tips for Editing Events
- Double‑check dates before saving.
- Use clear titles so events are easy to recognize.
- Update recurrence settings carefully to avoid unintended changes.
- If the event is no longer needed, use the Delete option instead.
