Family Calendar Overview
The Family Calendar helps everyone stay informed about birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, and other important family events. It provides a shared view of upcoming dates so the whole family can stay connected and organized.
Navigating the Calendar
The calendar displays one month at a time. You can move between months using the navigation buttons at the top:
- Previous Month — View earlier events.
- Next Month — See what’s coming up.
- Today — Jump back to the current month.
Types of Events
The calendar displays several types of events, each with its own color and icon:
- Birthdays — 🎂 Blue
- Anniversaries — 💍 Purple
- Family Events — 🎉 Green
- Custom Events — ✏️ Orange
Birthdays shown on the calendar never display the birth year — only the month and day.
Viewing Event Details
Click any event on the calendar to open a pop‑up with more information. The event details may include:
- Title
- Date
- Description
- Category
- Recurrence information
Adding Events
Admins and authorized users can add new events by clicking the Add Family Event button above the calendar. You can add birthdays, anniversaries, or any custom event.
Editing or Deleting Events
Only admins can edit or delete existing events. To make changes, click an event and choose the appropriate action in the pop‑up window.
Recurring Events
The calendar supports recurring events, including:
- Yearly — Birthdays, anniversaries
- Custom recurrence — Such as “2nd Saturday in August”
Recurring events appear automatically each year.
Tips for Using the Calendar
- Use colors and icons to quickly identify event types.
- Click events to view details or recurrence patterns.
- Admins should review events periodically to keep the calendar accurate.
