Recurring Events
Recurring events automatically appear on the calendar every year, month, week, or on a custom schedule. This makes it easy to track birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and repeating family traditions without re‑entering them each year.
What Is a Recurring Event?
A recurring event is an event that repeats on a regular schedule. Instead of creating the same event every year or month, you can set a recurrence rule and the calendar will generate future occurrences automatically.
Types of Recurrence
The calendar supports several recurrence patterns:
1. Yearly
- Repeats once every year on the same date
- Common for birthdays and anniversaries
- Example: July 14 — John’s Birthday
2. Monthly
- Repeats on the same day each month
- Example: 15th of every month — Bill Pay Reminder
3. Weekly
- Repeats every week on the selected weekday
- Example: Every Tuesday — Family Zoom Call
4. Custom (Nth Weekday)
Custom recurrence allows you to create patterns like:
- 2nd Saturday in August
- 1st Monday in June
- Last Friday in September
This is ideal for events such as reunions, annual meetings, or holidays that don’t fall on a fixed date.
Custom recurrence uses the format: CUSTOM:N:DAY:MONTH
Example: CUSTOM:2:SAT:8 = 2nd Saturday in August
