Managing Family Stories

The Manage Stories page allows administrators to review, edit, verify, and moderate all stories submitted by family members. This ensures that the Stories section remains organized, accurate, and family‑friendly.

Only users with Admin permissions can access the Manage Stories page.

What You Can Do on This Page

  • View all submitted stories
  • Filter by verification status, public/private visibility, submitter, or date
  • Search by title or submitter name
  • Open a story to read it in full
  • Edit or delete any story
  • Verify or unverify stories

Understanding Story Status

Each story includes two important status indicators:

  • Verified / Pending — Indicates whether an admin has reviewed the story.
  • Public / Private — Determines who can view the story.

Verified Stories

Verified stories have been reviewed by an admin and are considered complete and appropriate for the site.

Pending Stories

Pending stories have not yet been reviewed. Admins should verify them after reading.

Public Stories

Public stories are visible to all visitors, even those who are not logged in.

Private Stories

Private stories are visible only to logged‑in family members.

Filtering and Searching

The filter bar allows you to narrow down the list of stories by:

  • Verification status
  • Public/private visibility
  • Submitter name or email
  • Date range

You can also use the search box to quickly find stories by title or submitter.

Viewing a Story

Click the View button to open a modal showing the full story content, including:

  • Title
  • Story text
  • Submitter name
  • Submission date
  • Tags (if used)
  • Photo (if included)

Editing a Story

Admins can edit any story. To edit:

  1. Click the Edit button.
  2. Update the title, content, tags, or visibility.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Verifying or Unverifying a Story

To verify a story:

  1. Click the Verify button.
  2. Your name and the verification date will be recorded.

To unverify a story:

  1. Click the Unverify button.
  2. The story returns to Pending status.

Deleting a Story

If a story needs to be removed:

  1. Click the Delete button.
  2. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Deleting a story removes it permanently from the site.

Tips for Managing Stories

  • Verify new stories regularly to keep the Stories section up to date.
  • Use filters to quickly find stories that need review.
  • Encourage submitters to include photos and tags for better organization.
  • Use private visibility for sensitive or personal stories.
