Adding a Person to the Family Directory

The Family Directory helps everyone stay connected by listing family members along with their relationship, contact information, and optional details. Adding a new person is quick and helps keep the directory complete and accurate.

How to Add a Person

  1. Go to the Family Directory page.
  2. Click the Add Person button.
  3. Fill out the form with the person’s information:
    • Full Name — Enter the person’s complete name.
    • Relationship to You — Select how this person is related to you.
    • Birthdate — Optional. If provided, you can choose how much of it is visible to others.
    • Contact Information — Email, phone, and address fields are optional.
  4. Click Save to add the person to the directory.

Birthdate Privacy Options

You can control how much of a person’s birthdate is visible to others:

  • Show in Directory — Displays the birthdate on the person’s profile.
  • Show in Calendar — Adds the birthday to the Family Calendar.
  • Show Month & Day Only — Hides the birth year for privacy.
Birthdate visibility is optional. You can choose to hide the date entirely or show only the month and day.

Contact Information

Adding contact information is optional but helpful for staying connected. You can include:

  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Mailing Address (Street, City, State, ZIP)

This information is visible only to logged‑in family members.

Editing a Person

After adding someone, you can update their information at any time. Open their profile in the directory and click Edit to make changes.

Tips for Adding People

  • Use full names to avoid confusion.
  • Select the most accurate relationship option.
  • Use the privacy settings if you prefer not to show birth years.
  • Add contact details when available to help family members stay in touch.
