The Discussion Board is a place for family members to ask questions, share ideas, and talk about anything related to our family history, events, or memories. Creating a new discussion is quick and easy.
How to Start a Discussion
- Go to the Discussion Board page.
- Click the Start a New Discussion button.
- Fill out the discussion form:
- Title — Give your discussion a clear, descriptive title.
- Message — Write the opening post for your discussion. You can format your text using bold, italics, lists, and more.
- Click Create Discussion to publish it.
Rich Text Formatting
The discussion editor supports rich text formatting, allowing you to:
- Bold, italicize, or underline text
- Create bullet or numbered lists
- Add links
- Break your message into readable paragraphs
This helps keep discussions clear and easy to follow.
Where Your Discussion Appears
Once created, your discussion will appear at the top of the Discussion Board list. Other family members can click it to read your post and reply.
Editing Your Discussion
If you need to update your discussion after posting, open the discussion and click the Edit button. You can update the title or message at any time.
Replying to Discussions
Anyone with access to the Discussion Board can reply to your post. Replies appear in order beneath the original message, creating a conversation thread.
Tips for a Great Discussion
- Use a clear title so others know what the topic is about.
- Ask a question or provide context to encourage replies.
- Break long posts into paragraphs for readability.
- Use formatting to highlight important points.
